We are strengthening our sustainability credentials with a centralized offset printing fountain solution circulation and filtering system.

This system enables automatic fountain solution filtration, replenishment, fountain solution and alcohol control.

We have three main objectives:

► Reduce polluted fountain solution and VOC discharge

► Reduce consumption of fountain solution and alcohol

► Reduce machine downtime hours

Achievements

1. Economic

- The current consumption of tinned ink is 3830 kg per month. Wastage of ink due to manual operation is 128 kg per month, which can be prevented under the automated system, saving over 10,000 tins.

- The centralized ink supply system is highly automated and safe, saving manpower and thus lowering operational costs.

2. Environmental

- Ink contains 20%-30% VOC, and by reducing ink waste, VOC emission correspondingly falls by 6% to 7%.

Summary of achievements:

- Ink consumption reduced by 30%, equivalent to 40,000 tins of ink

- VOC emission reduced by 6%

- Operational costs reduced

- Investment of $430,000

- Ink savings amount to $96,000

- Savings also achieved in wages, storage and logistics

The centralized control and filtering system not only reduces our environmental footprint, but also improves the quality and efficiency of our production.

Environmental:

► Reduce the discharge of waste water by reducing the need to change fountain solution

► Increase economic efficiency and energy savings by reducing fountain solution     replacement, which reduces sewage discharge

Quality & efficiency:

► Productivity increased by 5-10%, increasing our printing quantity

► Improved control of the balance of ink and water, which improved the quality and     efficiency of our print products

Ink is transported, through pipes that are connected to each individual printer.

The system is easy and convenient to operate.

The system reduces the consumption of ink tins by 40,000 each year. The height of 40,000 ink tins is 4000 meters, which is equivalent to 8 ICC Towers.

The width of 40,000 ink tins is 5600 meters, which is equivalent to 4 Tsing Ma Bridges.

40,000 tin cans can also fill up 3 20-feet containers.
